Arnaboldi's Japanese tempura is the perfect accompaniment to your spritz with friends. It will make your fried food light, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
We recommend pairing your tempura with two easy-to-make sauces: wasabi mayonnaise and sweet and sour sauce. Read on to discover the recipes!

Japanese Tempura

INGREDIENTS (for two people)

PREPARATION (45 minutes)

Making tempura is really very simple. Start by cutting the carrots and zucchini into strips. Then clean the shrimp, remove the shell and head, leave the tail on, and cut the back to remove the intestines.

To prepare the tempura batter, add 200 ml of very cold water to theArnaboldi batter and mix until smooth. Then, heat 5-6 cm of oil in a 24-26 cm saucepan, add the vegetables and shrimp, and fry everything until the oil is very hot.
You can check the oil by inserting the handle of a wooden spoon: if the oil sizzles, you're done.

Wasabi mayonnaise

INGREDIENTS (15 minutes)

  • 150 g sunflower seed oil
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ lemon
  • 5 g of vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • 30 g Arnaboldi Wasabi

PREPARATION

First, squeeze the lemon and extract the juice, making sure to strain it through a sieve to separate the juice from the pulp and seeds. Then separate the yolk from the white and place it in a bowl, add a pinch of salt, and pour over the lemon juice and vinegar.

Then, use a whisk to mix the mixture and slowly add the oil, continuing to whisk to avoid curdling the mayonnaise. Continue whisking until the sauce is thick, velvety, and evenly colored.

Place the mayonnaise in a container, add the wasabi and mix until you obtain a uniform mixture.

Sweet and sour sauce

Sweet and sour sauce

INGREDIENTS (for two people)

  • 150 ml of water

  • 100 ml of vinegar

  • 120 g of brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce

  • Salt

PREPARATION (5 minutes)

To make the sweet and sour sauce, pour the water and sugar into a saucepan, stir, and bring to a boil. Melt the sugar over low heat and wait until it begins to boil before adding the vinegar, salt, and soy sauce. Then stir and add the tomato paste.

Mix everything together with an electric whisk and let it thicken. If you prefer a less runny mixture, you can add a tablespoon of potato starch or cornstarch for a creamier consistency. Sweet and sour sauce is a delicious accompaniment for a delicious appetizer, but it can also be used in cooking, for example, to make delicious sweet and sour chicken.

Aperol Spritz

INGREDIENTS (for two people)

  • 60 ml of Aperol
  • 90 ml of prosecco
  • Soda to taste
  • 2 orange slices
  • ice to taste

PREPARATION (5 minutes)

Fill a wine glass with ice, then pour in the Prosecco, Aperol, and finally a splash of soda water. Add more ice, stir, and garnish with orange slices.

The aperitif is served, cheers!
