Craving a delicious ethnic appetizer? Vietnamese-style rolls with sweet and sour sauce are the perfect entrée for an original Asian-style dinner. Try them and you won't be able to go back!
Ingredients
For the rolls
-
1 pack of Arnaboldi rice sheets
- 2 tablespoons of Arnaboldi soy sauce
-
24 prawns
- 8 lettuce leaves
- 3 carrots
-
2 tablespoons of seed oil
-
1 teaspoon ground ginger
For the sweet and sour sauce
-
1 glass of rice vinegar
-
1/2 glass of water
-
1/2 cup of sugar
-
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
-
1 teaspoon crushed chili pepper
Procedure
First, prepare the sweet and sour sauce: in a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, water, and crushed chili pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens. Finally, add the tomato paste.
Proceed with preparing the filling for the rolls: peel and cut the carrots into strips. In a nonstick pan, add the oil, carrots, ginger, and Arnaboldi soy sauce . Cook for 5 minutes (the carrots should remain crispy), then add the cleaned and peeled shrimp. Cook for another 5 minutes and let cool. Wash and cut the lettuce leaves and roll them up.
Finally, assemble the rolls: pour 2 cups of room temperature water into a bowl and rehydrate each sheet of Arnaboldi rice by soaking it in water for 1 minute. Once the sheet is softened, fill it with 3 prawns, a rolled lettuce leaf, and the carrots. Leave a little space around the edges and close each roll. Repeat with the remaining rolls.
Serve with the sweet and sour sauce and enjoy this simple and tasty recipe.
Chef's advice
For an even more appetizing result, fry the rolls in plenty of seed oil.
